Funding approved for roof repairs at Drumchapel & District Sports Centre in Glasgow.

The local community in Drumchapel are set to get an improved sports facility thanks to a £40,000 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.

The money will be used to refurbish and repair the roof at Drumchapel Sports Centre in Drumry Road East, Drumchapel.

Terry McLernon MBE, chairperson of Drumchapel Sports Centre believes the development of the facility will make a huge difference to the long-term future of the voluntary run venue.

He says: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of Drumchapel. It’s fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to our sports centre developments taking shape over the next couple of months.”

Mr McLernon says the facility will remain open for use by the clubs and local community through the refurbishments and hopes the works will be completed by June 2022.
