What we expect from employees, volunteers and members

While the main responsibility for providing equal opportunity is that of the employer, individual employees, volunteers or members have responsibilities too. The elimination of discrimination depends as much on them as on the management committee of Drumchapel Sports Centre.

3.1 In particular staff, club members, must co-operate with measures introduced by the management committee to make sure there is equal opportunity and non-discrimination.

3.2 Must not themselves discriminate, for example, as persons responsible for selection decisions in job recruitment.

3.3 Must not induce or attempt to induce others to practice discrimination, for example by refusing to accept applicants from particular racial groups; by refusing to work with a disability, because of sex, a person from an ethnic minority.

3.4 Must draw the attention of the management committee to suspected discrimatory acts of practices.

3.5 Must not victimise on the ground that they have made or provided information about discrimination(s) or harassment.

3.6 Must not harass abuse or intimidate staff members, users or individuals on any grounds including those of disability, race or sex.

3.7 Must ensure that the principles of equal opportunities are applied in all dealings with members of the public and no actions are taken which could be held to be discrimatory.
